Out of scope
Every Covenant Health site has employees who are not part of a bargaining unit. These employees are considered out of scope. If your employee group is out of scope, you are covered under the Out of Scope Employees Terms and Conditions of Employment. Make sure you are familiar with this document.
Once you have network access, you can also refer to Policies and Procedures on CompassionNet for policies applicable to out of scope employees.
Benefits
If you are eligible, you must enroll in benefit offerings within the first 31 days of initial eligibility as per your employee grouping. We will notify you through your Covenant Health email when you can elect benefits.

Site transfers
You may be eligible to transfer entitlements between Covenant Health and Alberta Health Services or Covenant Health and Covenant Care if you are ending your current position with your other employer and have accepted an FTE position with Covenant Health.
You must make a request before your start date with Covenant Health. Submit eligibility inquiries or site transfer requests through your current employer:
- Alberta Health Services (AHS) at sitetransferahs@albertahealthservices.ca
- Covenant Health through the HR department
When leaving your position, make sure you inform your manager. They will need to use the transfer between AHS and COV when processing your resignation.
More information
See recognition of previous experience, portability and site transfers for more details. You will need your employee ID to submit these requests.
