Carole Anctil-Michalyshyn

Carole Anctil-Michalyshyn is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and holds a BA and LLB from the University of Alberta. Carole practiced insurance law at a major Alberta law firm for nearly four years before starting a part-time legal practice that enabled her also to be a full-time stay-at-home mom. She continues her part-time legal work, specializing in legal research and contract work with Alberta Justice.
Carole has over 30 years of community involvement exclusively in the not-for-profit sector. From 2019-2022 she served as Chair of the Board of Catholic Social Services. She has volunteered with a variety of organizations municipally, provincially, and nationally, often in leadership positions. These organizations include Pilgrims Hospice Society, St. Joseph’s College, University of Alberta Senate, St. Andrews Seniors Centre, Friars of Edmonton, the Law Society of Alberta, Canadian Parents for French, and Edmonton Youth and Children’s Choirs. She completed the Institute of Corporate Directors – Governance Essentials program in 2020.
Carole brings a combination of legal experience and experience in governing faith-based not-for-profit organizations. She has a particular interest in board governance.
