Stuart Cullum
Board member
Stuart Cullum is an executive leader with experience in private industry as well as the finance, post-secondary, and not-for-profit sectors. Over the past 20 years, Stuart and his teams have established programming and centres for research, teaching and learning, company development and entrepreneurship – attracting partnerships and more than $160 million in external investment.
Stuart joined Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) as President in August 2022 and is leading the institution through its transformation into a provincially focused polytechnic, concentrated in manufacturing, energy innovation, social innovation and healthcare and health technology.
Stuart came to RDP from Olds College of Agriculture and Technology, where he served as President since 2016. During his time, the College launched a new strategic plan and saw growth in enrollment, applied research, partnerships, and investments – establishing itself as Canada’s Smart Agriculture College.
Stuart also served as Vice President Academic and Chief Operating Officer at Lethbridge College, Vice President Agriculture at Northlands, and Executive Director at novaNAIT, NAITs applied research and company development division.
An ICD.D Accredited Professional Director, Stuart has extensive board and committee experience. In addition to Covenant, he is appointed to the boards of Red Deer Polytechnic, the Canadian Agri-Food Automation and Intelligence Network (CAAIN), Agriculture for Life, the Post-Secondary International Network (PIN), and the Alberta Colleges and Institutes Employer Association (ACIEA). He also serves on the Alberta Public Sector Employers’ Council and has served on Alberta’s Skills for Jobs Taskforce and the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) – Advisory Committee.
