AUNP
If you are a nurse practitioner, you are covered under the terms and conditions of the AUNP collective agreement. Make sure you are familiar with this agreement, particularly any local conditions specific to Covenant Health.
Benefits
If you are eligible, you must enroll in benefit offerings within the first 31 days of initial eligibility as per your employee grouping. We will notify you through your Covenant Health email when you are able to elect benefits.

Probation period
See Probationary Period/Orientation article in your collective agreement.
If you move into a new position within the bargaining unit, see the Appointments and Transfers article for information about transferring within your probation period and trial periods.
Previous experience, portability and site transfers
Recognition of previous experience
We may recognize relevant work experience hours from previous positions or employers to determine your salary placement. This only applies to time worked before your start date with us. See the Salaries article in your collective agreement.
You will be placed at Step 1 of the salary grid for your job classification. To have your rate of pay reviewed, you must submit your previous experience.
Portability
You may port the following if you meet the conditions in your collective agreement (e.g., termination from a previous employer with same provisions):
- see Vacation article (applies to vacation accrual date only)
- see Seniority article (you must contact your local AUNP representative to request an adjustment to your seniority date)
Site transfers
There are currently no provisions for site transfers in the collective agreement with other employers.
Education allowance
To be eligible for an education allowance, you must submit a completed Education & Certificate Cover Form and original document for a relevant degree. We will assess the documentation you provide as per the language in your collective agreement. We may need copies of transcripts and course descriptions to assess if the degree or course meets requirements for an education allowance.
Submit your documents
- Visit the HR Contact Centre ServiceHub
- Under Get Support, select HR Catalogue
- Select HR Administration from the Categories, then the Rate of Pay tile
- Under Request Type, select Education/license
- Under Please type your request, specify "For review by HRBSSS, Covenant Health for Educational Allowance Request" and upload the documents identified above.

Provisional permits
Once you receive your full license/registration/practice permit, you will need to submit the following through the HR Contact Centre ServiceHub:
- a license and practice permit cover form
- a copy of your new license/registration/practice permit
- a copy of the results of your exam

- Log in to the HR Contact Centre ServiceHub
- Under Get Support, select HR Catalogue
- Select HR Administration from the Categories, then the Rate of Pay tile
- Under Request Type, select Education/license
- Under Please type your request, specify "For review by HRBSSS, Covenant Health for license/practice permit changes" and upload the documents identified above.
