Meet Donnabel Pascual

Donnabel Pascual says working with residents at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre feels like home.

“I work with great people and a great team, and it doesn’t even feel like work to me,” says Donnabel, a licensed practical nurse on Unit 12Y. She’s been with the facility for nine years.

The best part of the job is talking to residents and listening to their stories, she says.

“Working with the elderly takes a lot of patience, but it makes me feel happy that I am there for them, especially now that we have limited visitors allowed on the unit.”

And she’s passionate about supporting residents’ health. “It’s very rewarding, especially if you are able to identify, for example, any discomfort or any changes in regards to their health and then you can contribute to their recovery.”

She’s also proud of the collaborative approach her team takes to finding solutions to challenges and concerns. Team members communicate very well and come up with solutions that are best for the residents, she says.
