Carol Brown is using her love of crochet to support her community.
Carol has crocheted little dolls for years, and she recently found a pattern for nurse scrubs. She decided to start making and selling nurse dolls to raise money for Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital in Castor.
"This is my way of giving back to them. It feels like I am part of it. It makes me feel good,” says Carol. She wanted to support the hospital because of the care she received when her husband died there a year ago.
“It’s like a family. When Norm passed, there were groups of nurses crying, and the doctors were in tears,” she recalls. “They go through these things with us, not just for us.”
She has sold 22 dolls in less than a week and plans to make more.
“I would love to give them all a big hug and tell them how appreciative we are.”
These are beautiful, Carol! Thank you for your support.
